Hornets vs Spurs

After jumping out to a double digit lead early in the first quarter, the Hornets started strong and never looked back.

With All-Star point guard LaMelo Ball sidelined with a sprained ankle the Hornets needed big time performances from multiple guys, and they got just that.

Terry Rozier did Terry Rozier like things and led the game in scoring and assists finishing with 24 and 6 respectively. Gordon Hayward and Kelly Oubre both looked really solid. PJ Washington who has to have a big year made his presence felt, filling up the stat sheet with 17 points 4 assists 7 rebounds and 3 blocks in a team high 30 minutes.

The biggest surprise of the night came from backup center Nick Richards. Richards who has had a big summer in terms of development showed how much better he has got. He finished with 19 points 10 rebounds and dominated the paint defensively in a very productive 21 minutes.

All around the Hornets under new head coach Steve Clifford looked great on both ends of the floor. Last night was a great way to start the season and get the bitterness of this summer out of our minds.

The home opener will be tomorrow against Zion Williamson and a very solid Pelicans team.
