Hornets vs Heat

The Hornets met the Heat on ESPN in a Friday night matchup between conference rivals. Both teams’ seasons have started off well as they came into the game having only lost 2 combined games. The Hornets came out slow again. We dug ourselves in a hole right away in the first half by shooting horribly and not attacking the boards. We also had difficulty guarding Heat stars Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro.

The Hornets tried in the third quarter and cut the lead down to six to start the fourth quarter, but we just couldn’t finish the comeback. We were outscored 30-24 in the fourth quarter. Our third quarter charge was led by forwards Miles Bridges, Gordon Hayward, and Cody Martin. Martin is my pick for player of the game. He scored 15 points and shot 50% from the field, including behind the arc.

The Hornets need to get the rebounding situation figured out before we face Damian Lillard and the third best rebounding team in the NBA, the Portland Trail Blazers, on Halloween night. I will be seated courtside and I expect to see a good show!
