5 games 5 losses.

We’ve fallen off. After a promising win against the Lakers that bumped our record to 28-22 the Hornets have lost the last 5 straight games.

Our losing streak started Sunday at home against a depleted Clippers team in a game where we shot 23% from three and 32% from the field. That was the moral of the story for that one.

We then traveled to Boston on Wednesday to play Jayson Tatum and the Celtics. LaMelo Ball went crazy; locking in a career-high with 38 points, 9 assists, and 6 rebounds. We wound up being very competitive but after the Celtics strong third quarter, we played from behind and couldn’t complete the comeback.

Coming back home Friday to play the Cavaliers, then Hornets just couldn’t get it together. Jarrett Allen had a dominant game matching up against Mason Plumlee. The game ended up being entertaining as the Hornets came back from being down 10+ points. Unfortunately, with game winning free throws from Kevin Love the Cavs got the last laugh.

On Saturday the Hornets took on the Miami Heat and on Monday the Cavaliers. In both of these games, the Hornets fell behind early and found themselves playing catch up thanks to really poor shooting. Nothing exciting to report. They played like they were as bored as we were watching. Mid-season slump?

Throughout these five games, the Hornets have been shooting and playing the worst paint defense in the NBA. I believe the tides would turn with a strong center presence. Hopefully, we can get back on track Wednesday when we play the Bulls on ESPN.
