Hornets vs Pelicans

This game was a special one for me because one of my favorite players returned to the Queen City – Devonte Graham. Mr. Graham spent his first three years with the Hornets and in that span quickly became a player that both I and the city loved. I wanted to show ‘Vonte some love but also hoped we crushed his new team.

Up until the fourth quarter the game was very sloppy from both teams. The Pelicans had a lead for most of the game, but the Hornets overtook it in the final seconds and captured the win. Once again it was a team effort as everybody chipped in, from Mason Plumlee who had some huge dunks in the final minutes to the birthday boy, Miles Bridges, finishing with 16. Our trouble is consistently coming out weak. I am not sure if it is overconfidence or nerves, but from the stands, the entire team (excluding Isaiah Thomas who always goes hard) seems to need an extensive amount of time to ease into action. Tonight we were able to overcome a slow start, but it isn’t a good habit.

The Hornets have now won five straight and we look to keep that streak going Wednesday against the Knicks.
