We did the unthinkable! 19 point comeback. Hornets vs Nuggets
Hornets vs Nuggets
The Hornets finally did it! After falling behind 19 points, mainly because of a bad second quarter, the Hornets came back in the fourth quarter and beat the Denver Nuggets.
To everyone’s surprise this comeback was made by our second unit that was led by my player of the game, backup point guard Ish Smith. Ish didn’t put up LaMelo Ball esc stats, but when he checked into the game the energy and momentum completely changed and that is what fueled our comeback. He also hit a dagger three that put us up by 6 with 38 seconds to go.
But this comeback wasn’t just Ish, backup forward Jalen McDaniels who had 2 poster dunks (one on the reigning MVP, Nikola Jokic) chipped in with 12 points. Kelly Oubre continued his fantastic season leading the Hornets with 23 points in 32 minutes off the bench, and PJ Washington had 13 points (3 threes in the fourth), 9 rebounds with only 1 missed shot in the fourth quarter.
This was a very exciting game to watch and I am thrilled we ended the road trip with a win. Now the guys get to take a break to go home and spend Christmas with their friends and family before getting back to work on the 27th, at home (finally), against the Rockets. See you there!
