Hornets vs Suns and Wizards
The Hornets opened up the new year with a couple of bitter losses.
The first loss was to a Suns team that leads the league in wins and despite them missing a lot of their supporting cast they came to Charlotte and tore us up. This game marked the third largest home loss for the Hornets in franchise history. There isn’t really much to say about this game. The reality is we got out-rebounded, out-worked, out-shot, and many other out words, which led to a big blowout in front of the home crowd.
In the second game of this back-to-back (which is usually the worst out of the two by the way) the Hornets plain and simply should have won. Once again we were playing a depleted team in the Washington Wizards who had their starting point guard and power forward out. As I was sitting at home watching this game I remember being super tired and almost turning the TV off because I felt that confident that the Hornets had this one in the bag. At the end of the day, the Wizards made way more big-time shots in the fourth quarter and somehow the Hornets let Kyle Kuzma look like a young Micheal Jordan in a new school Wizards jersey.
On Tuesday as the Hornets travel back to NC they need to look in the mirror and figure out what sort of defensive adjustments they can make to get ready for the Pistons Wednesday.
