Hornets vs Warriors
Immediately following a Panthers upset, the Charlotte Hornets pulled of another phenomenal victory. We played great basketball against the then 11 – 1 Golden State Warriors.
This game once again came down to the wire, with the Hornets slightly edging out the Warriors 106 – 102. Steph Curry made some miraculous plays throughout, which got his hometown fans up on their feet. He finished with 24 points and 10 assists, but the Hornets did great stopping him down the stretch.
Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball started off hot, with 15 points in the first 12 minutes, but in foul trouble and with a flurry of bad shots he only finished with 21 points. He did do a lot of other things, including continuing his great defense and keeping his composure to stay in the game with 4 fouls.
Miles Bridges continued to impress, finishing the game with 22 and Cody Martin added a great boost off the bench both offensively and defensively.
My player of the game tonight was Hornets guard Terry Rozier. Rozier really stepped it up in the fourth quarter and made a huge play with 15 seconds left when he won a jump ball over Warriors forward Draymond Green. The atmosphere was great in Spectrum Center once again and I had a lot of fun watching the Hornets beat the best team in the NBA.
The Hornets have two days off, then face a tough matchup Wednesday against the best team in the eastern conference, the Washington Wizards. No doubt they will be ready for us after our outstanding victory tonight.
