Hornets vs Knicks

In their first game back home after a five game road trip the Hornets got a big win against the New York Knicks. Former Hornets star point guard, Kemba Walker, started the game on fire with 17 points in the first twelve minutes and the Hornets dug themselves into a sixteen-point hole. The two teams traded buckets in the second quarter and the score was 46 – 55 Knicks at the half.

The Hornets stormed out of the locker room after halftime and outscored the Knicks by 13 points which put the score at 80 – 76 Hornets in the 3rd. The fourth quarter was crazy! Spectrum Center was about 60% Hornets fans and 40% Knicks fans so there was cheering on both sides of the court. Obi Toppin and Miles Bridges traded windmill dunks which got the crowd super hype. In the end, the Hornets pulled away late in the fourth and won 104 – 96.

LaMelo Ball had 12 points 9 assists and a career-high 17 rebounds. Terry Rozier and Gordon Hayward combined for 40 points. The Hornets also held Kemba Walker to only 9 points after the first quarter and held Knicks star Julius Randle to only 10 points the entire game.

My player of the game was Hornets star Miles Bridges who had 24 points and hit some huge shots and made big defensive plays that helped propel us to victory. The Hornets stay at home Sunday to place the MVP favorite Steph Curry and his 10-1 Golden State Warriors. This is going to be a huge game, and if the Hornets can pull off a win we will put the league on notice that we are for real.
