Hornets vs Spurs
James Borrego entered his old stomping grounds Wednesday night and beat coach Greg Popovich and his San Antonio Spurs 131 – 115.
The Hornets played great from the start, and I know for a fact that in most games where you make ten threes in the first quarter you win. As a unit, we shot 59% from the field and held the Spurs to only 32% from three.
Gordon Hayward, my player of the game, played great from the start. He scored 11 points in the first 12 minutes and finished with 41 overall. It was awesome to watch him shoot shot after shot and seemingly not miss, especially in the third quarter when he scored 21 and put the game away for the Hornets. The best part about this is that he did it in only three quarters!
This was a great bounce-back game for the Hornets after the beatdown Monday via the Dallas Mavericks. Hopefully, we can keep playing solid basketball as we continue our road trip in Portland Friday.
