Hornets vs Grizzles

The Hornets beat the Grizzles 118 – 108 in Memphis Wednesday, ending their five game losing streak. From 1:06 left in the third to 5:03 to go in the fourth, the Hornets couldn’t make a bucket. The score was 60 – 48 with Terry Rozier scoring the only two points for the Hornets. This cold streak allowed the Grizzlies to gain momentum and get back in the game. But the Hornets didn’t let up and they eventually pushed through to win the game.

Gordon Hayward and Kelly Oubre carried the offense in this one, combining for 62 points. On a night where LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, and Miles Bridges only shot 12 – 38 the Hornets played great defense down the stretch and came through for the dub.

With a franchise-record 37 points and 7 threes off the bench, Kelly Oubre got my vote for player of the game. Oubre played amazing in the final 12 minutes of the game scoring 15 points and leading our offense. If the Hornets can get good contributions off the bench in a night when our starters shot badly, the league should be scared of what we could do.

The Hornets debut their city edition jerseys when they return home Friday to play former Charlotte Hornet, Kemba Walker, and the New York Knicks.
