Hornets vs Thunder

Dreadful. That is the word I use to describe the first 12 minutes of this game. We allowed the OKC Thunder to score 41 points in 12 minutes without two of their best players. Dreadful.

Something must have clicked in the huddle for the Hornets and they must have heard me groaning in front of my TV 1,085 miles away because they came out flaming in the second quarter. Isaiah Thomas hit 4 threes in a row and we outscored the Thunder by thirteen points taking us into the break with a one-point lead.

From then on we never looked back. We outscored the Thunder 69 – 52 in the last two quarters which was a result of us making shots and tightening up our defense.

Terry Rozier and Miles Bridges continued their tear combining for 57 points on only 10 missed shots. Most people would give the player of the game to one of them, but I’m giving mine to Mason Plumlee. Plumlee gets a lot of hate for not being the caliber of player that we want as a starting center, but he plays really hard. Not to mention he also led the team in assists tonight with 8.

Wednesday’s game against the Hawks is a big one. They are one game ahead of us in the standings so we really need to win this game.
